In August, my husband and I convinced the kids to go on a five mile hike up in the mountains outside of town. Admittedly, we didn't mention it was going to be five miles. There was a little bit of complaining early on, but as the trail wound through the hills the settled in for the walk.I of course brought my camera along with me. My favorite picture is this one. As far as photography trees, I like aspen trees with their contrast of green leaves and white trunks. When I'm in a forest like this I'll often take bracketed pictures so that I end up with three with different light settings. That way the trees would not get washed out with too much color. I've got my eyes on a polarizer for Christmas as well. From what I've read, they really help with the natural light not over taking the picture.
It was an amazing hike. Not only was it a lot of fun, but I took some really good pictures too.
